On a walk

You decide to go on a walk and run happily out the door. You walk down the street and see kids at play on the sidewalk and smile at them. You keep going then stop at the corner realizing that in you excitement you hadn't brought a lunch. You turn the corner and conveniently placed across the street is a convenience store. You wait for traffic to stop then cross the street and go into the store. It was just like every other conve-store filled with snacks, coffee, candy, and carbs. You think to yourself that it doesn't really matter since it's your day off and start collecting treats. There is one other person in the store. A boy about your age. He looks at you for a moment then when you look up at him he turns away and eyes the window as if he were waiting for someone.
