You can't risk both yours and Freddie's lives for her. You turn your back and and walk away from the house. Fred looks at the door way, then at you, but you can't meet his gaze "Too risky" Fred just stands there as you walk into the front yard. As you stand there, wanting to cry and scream, you hear Fred walk behind you, standing by your side. He puts his hand on your shoulder, speaking softly "I know you want to help, but if you don't think its safe, then don't do it. Our survival is the most important thing here. You nod, but can't help but feel like absolute shit. As you turn to walk into the street, your mind races with your possibilities. You could head to the Farm, the City, or just stay here. you turn back to Fred to talk about the possibilities, when a large explosion from the mountain roared through the air. You glance back as a ball of flame bloomed from the mountain top, flinging debris across the mountainside. A second blast erupts, causing the ground to shake, as a mushroom cloud seems to grow, reaching into the heavens. You are filled with both fear and wander, as the cloud of smoke blotted out the sky. You notice that the mushroom cloud had a red tinge, like the fog along the mountainside. As you gazed at the giant pillar of smoke, you noticed red flashes of lightning, illuminating the sky. You heard Fred mutter, but you blocked everything out as you were entranced by the scene in front of you. It was too late when you heard the car, and Freddy shout at you to move, when the vehicle hit you. You looked down to see a panicked woman behind the wheel, coughing as she speed toward you. You tried to jump out of the way, but the top of the hood and windshield slammed into. You heard a crack, before falling onto the concrete. As you laid on the ground, you stared at the mountain, with all of its destructive glory. Your limbs felt to heavy to move, like they were filled with lead, and the ground was so comfortable. A large man grabbed you, dragging you away from the street. That must be Fred, you tried to say something, but it came out as gibberish. As you were dragged away, your vision slowly faded. The last thing you saw was the huge cloud, spreading across the sky, and ash starting to fall, like snow.
