Runes of Valor: How to Play
From Create Your Own Story
For this game you will need a pencil, a sheet of paper and maybe a 20-sided die.
If you have a 20-sided die, good. If not, you can head to a site called [http.Roll20.net] and open a new game. Tool around until you find a custom-dice thrower. Select d20 and roll. Add 10 to this number to determine your STAMINA. This is important, as you need to modify as used, and if your STAMINA reaches 0, you die..
You can also learn 5 skills. You must learn navigation for now, so write down (Skill)Navigation on your paper. You can also learn one of these three skills:
(Skill)Basic Healing: +1 STAMINA when used (-5MP) (Skill)Hunting: +2 to roll when archery triggers (-5MP) (Skill)Protection I: -1 STAMINA lost in combat per round (-5MP)
To determine MP, roll the 20-sided dice (d20) and add 5 to the number you got. The -MP at the end of a skill shows the MP cost. Keep in mind your MP can only increase above the initial roll after you level up. To do so, collect 2500 exp. Each time you level up, you'll need to collect another 2500 exp. in addition.
In combat, you roll twice. Once is to determine how much STAMINA is lost by the enemy, and the second time determines how much STAMINA you lose. Keep in mind that if you kill the enemy before you take damage for that turn, you don't lose any STAMINA, with the exception of end-of-turn damage. The game will state the STAMINA your opponent has, as well as additional effects, such as weaknesses, immunities, and end-of-turn damage.
