They want to play Mario Kart

"Let's play Mario Kart!" They say in unison, jumping up and down excitedly. You agree, and the two run and set up the game. By the time you sit down on the couch, the Wii U is already on and the game loaded.
"Let's do kids vs. adults!" Dylan cheers, and you nod your head. Elated, the twins sit on either side of you and choose their characters (Baby Mario and Baby Peach respectively). You choose Mario, as he's the only character you know. You haven't played this game in months, and you weren't even then, so you quickly realize how this is going to go.
You start the first race badly, going backwards instead of forwards. You end the race in 8th, while Dylan takes first and Lucy third.
"Hey no fair, you cheated," you joke, which is met with adamant denials from your children. "Okay, okay, well best two out of three!"
They readily agree, choosing the next match. Before the game starts, however, Lucy hits you with a weird question."
"Can I sit in your lap?" She asks, in the sweet way only a ten year old can.
"Why would you want to do that?" You ask, not totally on board with the idea.
"It'll be like I'm in a real racecar!" She says, "Please, Daddy, pleeeeeaaase!"
"No, I want to sit on your lap!" Dylan pipes up, not wanting to be left out.
