You quiet the panicking thoughts in your head. If they knew who you were working for they would already be sending out their interceptors. Something is definitely wrong, but you breathe deeply, relax your muscles, and tell yourself that if you were in any danger you'd know. Your instincts haven't let you down yet, so you decide to trust them and wait for Burgess to respond.

Fortunately for you, that doesn't take too much longer. After another thirty seconds Burgess reemerges on the comm channel, and says, "Sorry about that, captain. Little trouble with our systems here. It says that you've never docked with a Symbiosis Enterprise's station before, is that correct?"

"What? No, that's incorrect. I've docked with Symbiosis more times than I can count." Which is true, many of your missions take you to stations just like these. Would they still let you dock without confirmation of who you were?

Burgess grunts. "That's what I figured." In the background you swear you can make out someone telling Burgess to fuck off, but that's it. "Well, we can figure that out on the station." His voice maintains it's same bored monotony, but his language becomes more official as he says, "Captain Vera Travis, you are cleared for landing. Proceed to dock four-three."

"Thanks, Captain Travis on route."

"Captain, be advised that a Symbiosis Enterprise's technician will be waiting for you on the landing pad. The technician will get you back into our systems so this won't happen again."

"Is that really necessary? I am in a bit of a rush here."

Burgess sighs and says, "well if you don't want to fill out information now you could do it the next time you land, but they'll drag you into a technician's office and the whole procedure will take hours. This way you can be done in less than 15 minutes."

What a pain in the ass. You wonder if it would be better to just get it out of the way now, though you'd rather not keep your contact waiting any longer than you need to. Still, it seems like Burgess is doing you a favor here, but could it really take the whole day?

"It's your choice, Captain Travis."
