She nods. "Indeed. The planet you know as Earth, the planet you grew up on... I'm sorry to say it no longer exists. It is a barren, nuclear wasteland, the only life on its surface that of archeological teams sifting through the ruins. At the conclusion of the Second Galactic Civil War, Old Earth was destroyed from orbit. It was the only way to ensure victory - the warlord was still a formidable foe despite his carnal obssessions and advancing years. The rebellion needed to make absolutely sure he was gone."
"Of course, humans had colonised hundreds of planets, so Old Earth was not their only homeworld. Yet it was still important to their history, so they sought out a new planet to call their own. The galaxy aided them in their search, and eventually a planet was located that matched the environment of Old Earth in nearly every way. Now, centuries later, that planet is known as New Earth and is a thriving centre of commerce and culture."
She smiled. "Anything else you wanted to know?"
