You head down the hallway, lit only by the moonlight coming in through the window at the end of the hall. You slide your hand against the wall to give yourself a bit of balance in the dark. You turn the corner to the elevator and stairs and realize you'll be walking down to the ground floor, since the elevator is probably out.
You push open the door to the stairs when a door behind you somewhere in the hall is flung open so hard it slams into a wall. You hear a woman scream, and as you turn, can see the shadow of a woman fall from the doorway onto the floor. Immediately, as she tries to get up, a man steps from the doorway, and in the glint of the moonlight, you can see he's brandishing a large knife.
