Near the edges of the village you spot a small house, hardly big enough to even be called that but yet there it is. Creeping across the dimly lit field you make your way over to the small house. Inching up against its wooden exterior you press your ear against the wall and listen quietly to the voices from within.
"She's been gone for much to long." The voice of a woman can be hear talking to another.
"I know dear, I'll gather some men up and go searching for her... hope the woods haven't taken her." A man speaks with grief in his voice.
Feet shuffle around the house as you hide within the shadows and watch as a bulky, well built man exits from within with a burning light in one hand and a weapon of sorts in the other. Walking away you watch as he goes from house to house and with each another joins his group till there are a dozen armed and with lights of their own.
Heading off into the woods they leave into the thicket as their lights softly fade leaving the village all the more quite.
Feeling like this was the moment you were waiting for you approach the door of the house. Pressing on it you find the door will not move, trying again with a small knob on its front you find it still holding firmly in place.
