Examine the blood more closely.
From Create Your Own Story
You stoop to examine the blood on the floor more closely. It is partially coagulated, revealing that it has been there for some time. A wave of nausea rushes through you as it oozes from beneath your toes, and you back away from it with a corner of the sheet held over your mouth. As you back away, however, your feet slide out from beneath you again. You make a frantic grab for the table but fail to get a hold of it before you hit the ground. Your skull meets the tile with a loud, resounding crack and you feel your head bounce from the force of the drop before everything goes black.
You regain consciousness much later, though when you open your eyes you see nothing but blackness. The sensation of cold tile is against your face and you recognize the stickiness of blood beneath you. You squeeze your eyes closed and open them again, for a moment panicking that you have gone blind. There is a ringing in your ears and you feel your entire body shaking. Then, realizing the buzzing of the fluorescent lights has stopped, you dare to hope the room is merely dark and that you have retained your sight after all.
