From Create Your Own Story

Revision as of 19:33, 24 June 2012 by Platypus (Talk | contribs)

Please make sure to include the title of the story as a category on each page you post. If you don't know how to add categories, please review the Tutorial, especially Basic page format.--Platypus 23:57, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

And never, NEVER take an existing page and remove the blue links. Doing that rips out the pages someone else wrote. Destroying someone else's story is NOT tolerated. Your editing has been reverted and the pages orphaned by your overwriting have been deleted.

  • The only story I recall editing was my own called medieval life.

Did you not notice that the page Medieval Life already existed? Did you not notice the blue links on that page before you edited it and removed them? --Platypus 06:21, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

Second warning. Uncategorized pages will be edited or deleted. and could you learn to spell? spelling errors make the story look bad.--Snowball- The Anti-Adult-Content Resistance Leader 12:17, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

Perhaps the existing page was somehow invisible to you. Go to Medieval Life and click on the history tab. You should see that the page existed before you edited it. --Platypus 15:46, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

No problem. Now that you're aware of your mistake, you know not to repeat it. Case closed.

As for where that particular story is hiding, keep in mind that not all stories appear on the Main Page. Some people want to hide their stories until they feel that they're completed. Some stories never go very far and end up being moved from the Main Page to the Pit of Abandoned Stories. And some people simply never figure out the system and write a story without ever placing it anywhere.

But could you please remember the put the category on your pages? It is very necessary to keep the site organized and I do not want to have to keep putting it on for you. --Platypus 19:23, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
