The Snowball Fight

In your mind, you imagine a classic snowball fight, similar to many you've had before in your own childhood. Everything is covered in snow, crude walls of snow set up behind a wooden cabin with bright-eyed and red-faced children hiding behind them. Each side has piles of snowballs stocked up, two children on each side (siblings, probably).

Touching the paintbrush to the canvas, colors spiral out from the tip, staining the pure white canvas exactly as you pictured in your mind. Jerking the paintbrush away, you hastily rub your eyes. I must be seeing things, you think, there's no way that really happened. Maybe my brain is still in dream mode or something.

Opening your eyes, you find that in the small area around where the paintbrush touched, a section from the image in your mind really is painted there. Biting your lip, you swipe a line from left to right through the center of the canvas. Just like before, colors spiral out of your paintbrush ending about an inch from where it touches. You quickly reveal the rest of the painting, not daring to blink lest the image disappear.

You touch the painting with your hand, wondering if the texture of the paint is there only to have your hand engulfed into the painting! You take your hand out as fast as you can, your eyes flicking between your hand and the painting. You slowly reach back into the painting, feeling freezing cold. With a deep breath and eyes shut tight, you lean your head inside, lose your balance, and fall completely inside.

Your senses are immediately assaulted. There's the sharp, freezing cold, the soft snow, the giggling (and abrupt stop of said giggling) of children. Pulling yourself up onto your knees, you take in the scenery around you with wide eyes. Everything looks exactly as you painted it, only real.
