“Oh.” She rubs the back of her neck. “My bad. Guess I’ll drink yours, then.”
“Sorry,” you answer, feeling like a wimp for not going ahead with it.
“Nah.” She gives you a very simple and honest smile. “It’s good that you didn’t just go along with whatever I was doing. I like girls who stand up for themselves.”
Her words make you feel a lot better. “Thanks. What is that, exactly?”
She knocks back one of the shots and sighs before answering. “Buttery Nipple,” she answers. The ordinarily awkward words roll off her tongue like nothing. “It’s kinda the signature here. The name and all.” She grins. “If you don’t want a shot, is there anything you want?”
"Sure, I think I'll get a beer."
"Actually, I'm fine as is. Let's talk some more."
“Actually, I think I’m going to check out the place some more.”
