Julianne, your mom, wears a summer dress like you, only that hers is strapless. By the look on her face, she must be annoyed that the cab that was sent was not a minivan like she asked for. That means the cab is one seat short. You are the youngest, and life isn't fair. That means that you are going to have to share a seat with either one of your siblings - or mum. Julianne musters you in your short dress and then orders Will into the front seat. This is weird as you'd have thought that she would ride up front. Maybe she didn't like the idea that you sit on Will's lap in that dress, although you don't see the hassle. You assume that Will could be gay, as he doesn't seem to bring home any girl. Eh, whatever.
