“Every time Ashley came by, she always seemed to bring one friend or another,” David insisted.
“You must not have been by that often. I’ve been to Derek’s place many times,” Tessa challenged.
He shrugged. “I came by when I could.”
“What kept you away?”
“The Marine Corps,” David admitted, “I did my two years and then decided I was tired hanging around with guys all day.”
“I thought they had women in the Corps?”
“Sure,” he smiled, “but they’re scary. They got bigger balls than me!”
This time she chuckled. David was pretty cute, but there was a lot he wasn’t telling.
