"I was fighting with a friend, about what I really can't recall, when a metal trophy flew off it's shelf and hit him in the head. It nearly killed him. I knew I was the one who caused that to happen and I was so scared. I ran all the way home sobbing, hoping against hope that my parents would still love. They did, they still do. We moved a week later, having only stayed to confirm my friends condition.  At first I counted the days since the incident, but they grew numerous and more incidents happened. Then I counted how many times we moved, as for every time I had an incident that couldn't easily covered up we left town. Still, the numbers grew. Finally, I counted by states. We only left a state in it was a really bad incident, or we had moved so many times within the state that we had no where else to go. We probably would have been at seven states if Mr. Summers hadn't come along."

"Well, I was talking to Elixir when Julius came over. I didn't want them to fight so I got between the two." Here you hesitate. "I guess I tripped and accidently tripped Julius on my way down," You finish lamely, not daring to look up into the eyes you know are fixated on you.

There is a long pause as everyone wondered how to react to the blatant lie.

"Jack." You flinch as the professor starts speaking. "When did your powers manifest themselves?"

"6 states ago."

"I'm not sure what you mean by that Jack, can you please explain?"

You don't want to do this, don't want to tell them, but you fell like you have no choice. Not once looking up, you tell him.

"Did you have to lie a lot?" The professor asks gently.

You nod.

"Is that why you lied now?"

You start to nod, but stop. That wasn't the only reason.

"There is something else. Something that happened to me two states ago, but I can't tell you. I'm sorry." You whisper.

"You shouldn't be sorry, we all have our scars." Elixir says, reminding you there is more people in the room. Something that is further confirmed when Logan grunts to show he agrees with Elixir's statement. You smile shyly at them in thanks.

"Elixir is right, but I want you to remember there is no need for you to lie anymore," says the professor.

"Yes, sir."

"Now go, there are plenty of things you can go do or see and I'm sure Elixir or Logan would be happy to help you out."
