Michael tried to rub the green flash from his eyes. What, did Kent want to blind everyone? Was that the surprise? And when had he fallen down?

When his eyes began to adjust he started to realize that he was not in the same room either. He was in a bed, in a bedroom conveniently enough. The room was sparsely decorated, a bed and a dresser, a red rug on a tan brick floor, bright sunlight filtered through thin white curtains covering a window set in a tan stonework wall. The air was warm, and he could guess it would be even warmer outside.

He didn't recognize this place, and as he moved to get out of bed he caught a glimpse of his hand, his skin was a vivid orange color and an impossible thought struck him as soon as he noticed that.

Was he, somehow, his own character from the game? Was he in the game? That couldn't be right, right? The confirmation, it could be considered, came when he noticed his own hair. shoulder length, wavy yellow hair. Not blonde but yellow, bright yellow. And as he examined his hair his hand brushed over one of his ears, flat on top and pointed at the end.

Once the information settled in his mind, he decided there was nothing to be gained from sitting in bed. If he wanted to find out what happened, where he was, or how to get back home and back into his real body he needed to get out of bed and look around.

To that end, he stood and walked to the window. He was on the second floor of a building, outside he could see a rooftop just across an alley, a dome shaped roof with a white tarp secured over it. Either he was in a small town or he was near the edge of whatever town or city this was, because beyond that building was sand. Nothing but sand as far as he could see.
