You reach over and put the cap on the bottle. "You should slow down," you say. "For a multitude of reasons."

"Why, because I said you're cute?" She sat up on the couch slowly. "Am I making you nervous? Is that it?" She smiled again, her face lovely in the firelight.

"I just don't want you passing out in case we have to run," you say. "Or getting too loopy in general."

"I won't drink anymore," she says, smiling. "If you tell me you don't like me flirting with you."
