The Wii is Nintendo's entry into the seventh generation video game console race. It is their first console to not officially contain Nintendo in its name.

Without even owning one, you can tell that it has the worst graphics and sound capability, and not many actually good games. Its Online Service is uncomparable to the other two consoles of its generation as they are truly completely different.

The Wii overall has the graphical and sound capabilities of it's predeccesor the Nintendo GameCube only more memory. This is probably the reason it is capable of playing GameCube game disks and able to read GameCube memory cards, as no other Nintendo home console has been backwards compatible for some reason. Games available on every preceeding first, second, and third party console Nintendo has licensensed are available as downloadable software on the Wii's online service, as well as an Internet Browser and games developed just for the service.

Games such as Super Smash Brothers: Brawl and companies such as High Voltage Software have been able to work around the limited graphics capabilities somehow and create graphics that put the PlayStation 3 to shame.

While thousands of games have been made for the Wii very few of them are called good by actual video game players. This is because with the Wii Nintendo decided to make games easily playable by casual gamers or even people who don't like video games. Unlike with Kirby's Dreamland they somehow succeeded in making most of the games ridiculously easy. Their are infact some Wii games that are hard, such as Ninjabread Man mostly because of glitchy controls and the character being able to walk faster than Sonic the Hedgehog can run... or could in the olden days... Games on the Wii have also been geared towards family entertainment. Things you would let your grandmother watch and such. Which confused many people when Mad World happened.

The Wii's good games are considered by many to be much more fun than games on competing consoles and because Guitar Hero 3 was released on the Wii, the first time a Guitar Hero game was released on a Nintendo console evur, many people found it illogical to buy any other console.
