Okay, guys. So this is my idea of how one planet engaged in this war (is it a war) came about:
Think about this theory: Panspermia
Life from another Planet 00 (working title) came to Planet 01 (working title) via asteroid/comet. From there, different species evolved and so on.
Technology in Planet 00 (working title) is mainly based on rock, implying that the asteroid/comet that crashed into Planet 01 (working title) was a vehicle, and not just some random asteroid/comet.
Planet 01 (working title) in present day is pretty much like this universe's Earth.
Organisms from Planet 00 (working title) are elvish, though vegetation there is scarce. In a nutshell, they are rock-elves.

Actually, the idea is that we start of with a present day Earth, then project its future.
i.e: Man colonizes space, some disaster happens on Earth and noone ever goes back there, then evolution takes place on Earth while the other guys outside are living their own lives, fighting their own war. Then some researchs/historians decided to visit Earth. Soon after that, the Earthlings decided to attack everyone else becauase "they don't like their methods".
The above statement is one possible history line based on the "official" history line.
