A planet is classed according to its purpose, type of civilization, culture and technological level. Class is not dependent on the world's natural environment except in extreme cases like death worlds and dead worlds. So, a world entirely covered in jungle or desert is still a feral world, civilized world, death world, etc.

There are several classes of planet. The broadest class of Terran world is Civilized World.

Alpha - Agri-World
Gamma - Civilised World
Delta - Dead World
Delta Tau - Death World
Eta - Hive World
Mu - Feudal World
Rho - Research Station
Phi - Forge World
Phi Lambda - Feral World

Some areas of the galaxy have many worlds of a similar state.
