In the shipyard section of the port, you can switch between ships of yours that are at that port, rename those ships, repair those ships, and buy new ships.
When you are buying a new ship, there are several sections to look at. They are:
- Type of ship
- Description
- Rotational speed
- Hull maximum health
- Sail maximum health
- Cargo capacity
- Cannon capacity
- Crew capacity
- Optimal navigation crew
- Beam speed
- Run speed
- Close reach speed
- Closest angle to the wind
Cannon and crew capacity are not the highest number of them that you can have on the ship; rather, they are the highest number that will be useful to you if you have them on the ship. Optimal navigation crew is the smallest number of crew that the ship can have on it and still move at its best speed and be its most maneuverable.
