The ProFile external hard disk drive was Apple's first HD. The first models sold at $3,499 US and held 5 MB of storage. Later, a 10 MB model was offered, but it required an upgraded interface card to recognize the additional 5MB.

Internally

The ProFile was based on the Seagate ST-506 drive, but without Seagate electronics and Apple-branded circuit boards.
