You enter the most beautiful temple you've ever seen, made of white marble with hanging silk draperies and small fountains on the sides running with pure, clean, shining water. The acolytes, the most beautiful men and women you've ever seen, walk slowly through the great hall, heads bowed reverently as they pray quietly.

There is a carpet woven through with the tales of the GodandGoddess Phiraun that lead from the door to an ornate altar/desk, behind which stands the matron, a woman with gray hair and a compassionate sparkle in her eyes, but a timeless beauty that hasn't diminished in the least with her age.

She looks at you and knows your desire, what and WHO you need to bring you rest, healing and comfort.

People who go to the Temple of Phiraun aren't just folks looking for a lay, mind you. The Acolytes only serve those who are pure of heart and pure of intention, not the lusty and lost.

-
They grant physical, emotional and spiritual healing to people who truly need it, especially adventurers, soldiers and paladins.

The Acolytes are all Clerics or Favored Souls of Phiraun who train in three disciplines: Magic, Martial Arts and Sexuality.
+
-

+
-
They are often brought in as children and kept sheltered in a cloister in the walled and protected back courtyard.
+
-

+
-
The cloister, where the Acolytes in training (The Flowers) are kept is protected by an order of Paladins who do little else but ensure the protection of innocence and purity.

-

+
-
The Flowers don't become Acolytes until they are 16. They begin a geisha-like period of learning technique and poise at 14.

+
-
The Church only accepts clients 16 and older as well, of course, as per the religion's belief in a proper age for proper conduct.
+
-

+
-
The only exception to the age of 16 client rule are soldiers, who are as young as 14 in Charnos' wartorn world. Since the coasts are almost in constant defensive readiness they need a steady influx of soldiers.

Some Acolytes become adventurers in one of two situations. First is by choice, some Acolytes train to become missionaries instead of holy prostitutes.
+
-

+
-
The second instance where an Acolyte leaves a cloister is when they find True Love, something they can magically divine thanks to the power of their GodandGoddess.

-
Clerics of Phiraun are the traveling dandy with ladies on his arms, the beautiful and wise mistress of divine magic and healing, the innocent youth who thinks only of others and the compassionate warrior-cleric who has devoted himself to defending love and purity.

-
Also, the Church does not charge for it's services. It only accepts donations. And never expects donations from soldiers or paladins.---

*Shem-Valeth, goddess of knowledge. (Knowledge, Mind, Dream, Craft)
