Yes, Cory, and in addition to and reetald to International Peace Day, the UN General Assembly is holding its annual meeting in NYC this week, where the Millenium Development Goals top the agenda. The Clinton Global Initiative is also meeting in the city this week a group Bill Clinton assembled to develop practical (albeit top-down) responses to many of the issues pertaining to structural and cultural violence that we've touched upon in class. Symbolically, at least, a highly charged week!
