Tuning fork

Since its invention by John Shore in 1711, the tuning fork has been adapted to a wide variety of experimental and exhibitory needs. The most common adaptation, of which the Case Physics Dept. has numerous pieces, comprises a tuning fork mounted on a resonance box with a length one quarter of the tuning fork wavelength. This was used in lectures and demonstrations.
