The daughter of the well-known High Summoner Braska and his Al-Bhed wife, Yuna grew up following the teachings of the temples of Yevon while training to become a summoner like her father. Braska died at the end of his pilgrimage to stop Sin while Yuna was still young. Quite a number of years later, the threat of Sin returned, and Yuna determined to undertake the same pilgrimage to Zanarkand, to stop Sin and give the world of Spira another span of Eternal Calm. She was joined on this journey by a shitload of Guardians - Tidus, Auron, Wakka, Lulu, Kimahri and Rikku.
Together, the group traveled across Spira, putting right what once went wrong fighting off undead creepies with jellyveins while getting closer and closer to their final destination. At Zanarkand, they learned the truth the Final Summoning capable of stopping Sin: it required the sacrifice of both the summoner and one of their guardians. Yuna and the others refused, and went on to find a different way to defeat Sin - for the last time.
After Sin's defeat, Tidus vanished into the great unknown thanks to the stupidest plot device in existance, and Yuna was Very Sad.
Fast forward about a year, when Yuna finds a shiny shiny sphere recording of somebody that looks a hell of a lot like Tidus if you squint hard enough and can see past the poor quality of the recording. But, filled with hope of seeing Tidus again EVEN THOUGH HE TECHNICALLY DOESN'T EXIST, Yuna teams up with her cousin/former guardian Rikku and a newcomer Paine to run around Spira in skimpy clothes looking for more shiny shiny spheres.
Uhh... blah blah Vegnagun, blah blah minigames, blah blah porn star Gippal, blah blah mini games, blah blah Nooj t3h n00b, blah blah MINI GAMES, blah blah possessed!Baralai, blah blah M I N I G A M E S, blah blah Not!Tidus and his Latino girlfriend from a thousand years ago, blah blah mini *twitch* games *twitch* and then, 100.3%!!!111, and Tidus comes back from the great unknown and everybody's happy! :D
Oh, yeah, and the Skimpy Girl Squad saved the world from getting exploded, huzzah!
In Purgatory
Yuna was an early arrival to the island, and has been living with her boyfriend Tidus since turning up. She works at the Welcome Center as a greeter, hostess, general well-wisher, information desk, and just about anything else they need her to do around there. She also helps out wherever she can around the island, and is always willing to chat with pretty much anyone.
Known to befriend random psychopaths on a regular basis, she is far too nice for her own good and recently invited Youji and Natsuo to come live with her and Tidus, since they had nowhere else to stay.
