Tyrion Lannister is the youngest son of Lord Tywin Lannister, and probably his greatest disappointment. His very birth killed his mother, and he himself was born not only deformed, but a dwarf. For that reason, his name has always been the Imp amongst noble circles, and where it was once said in deversion, it is now said with an echo of scared respect.
Underneath his squashed features and shrunken body lies a keen mind, a sharp tongue and a sense of honor and decency that not even his family can kill within him, no matter how much he loathes Tywin and his siblings, Cersei and Jamie.
He's no Prince on a shining white horse, but he'll surprised you.
