[21:35] * Mieko frowns. "Wha-?" *

[21:35] * Kazuma perks up, "action time"

[21:36] <Rimblade> Ohhhh. Open it, Nessie, lad! I bet there's something cool on the other side!

[21:36] * LordBarrius opens an eye to gaze at the door.

[21:36] * Ness looks at LB "I think this is within YOUR area of expertise."

[21:36] * Kazuma yawns, "Don't do it. It'll taint you. Falerin's work I bet"

[21:37] * Damsel frowns as the buzz of activity diverts her attention from her studies. "Hmmm?"

[21:37] <Rimblade> Barrius! You've gotta try to open the door! Why else would one mysteriously appear, bleeding forth darkness?

[21:37] <LordBarrius> "*My* area of expertise? How so?"

[21:38] <Ness> It's practically oozing dark.

[21:38] * Kazuma giggles

[21:38] * Mieko sighs. "More mysterious things..." She walks over to the door and reaches out to touch it. *

[21:38] <LordBarrius> "Granted, but that doesn't mean I'm any more familiar with the origins or type of magic used."

[21:38] * Damsel puts aside the pile of scrolls and documents that are in her lap and stands. Very cautiously she approaches the door, peering at it curiously.

[21:38] * bule[AFK] slowly lingers into the room.

[21:38] * bule[AFK] is now known as bule

[21:38] * Ness catches Mieko's arm "Bad idea."

[21:39] * Mieko pulls away. "Don't touch me. You're not my mother." *

[21:39] * bule looks at the door in the middle of room. "Um whats with that uh door?"

[21:39] <Kazuma> Fal's work is not for touching. And we should assume Falerin did it since we don;t know who did

[21:39] <Ness> No, I'm not.

[21:39] <Ness> But that doesn't mean I should let you hurt yourself.

[21:40] * LordBarrius stands cautiously and peers at the door with curiousity and caution, eventually taking steps towards it.

[21:40] <Kazuma> Have fun LB.

[21:40] <bule> Er.

[21:40] <Rimblade> Touch it! Better you than me, sirrah!

[21:40] * Mieko glares at Ness. "I don't care what you should or shouldn't do. I do what I want." She reaches out again to touch the door *

[21:40] <bule> Is that a good idea...

[21:40] * Damsel stops about five feet away from the door, then begins circling it while keeping a similar distance. "Most odd..."

[21:41] <Rimblade> It's a brilliant idea. Now we've got three people reaching towards it, all studying a DOOR, for heaven's sakes, and the rest of us making smarmy comments.

[21:41] * Kazuma leaps up and stops Mieko. "I said no touching!"

[21:41] * Ness sighs "Fine, not on me."

[21:41] * bule looks about.

[21:41] <Kazuma> Only LB should

[21:41] * Mieko looks at Kazuma. "Get away from me, little boy. I'm not in the mood for your innocence." She touches the door with her fingertips. *

[21:41] <Ness> Actually, given how much LB's body likes foreign magic

[21:42] * Kazuma waits for the door to open.

[21:42] <Ness> I don't think he should either.

[21:42] * Damsel returns to her initial position and crosses her arms, tilting her head to the side in consideration.

[21:42] * Kazuma gets back to the sofa, hiding behind it.

[21:42] * bule stays put beside the door of the abode.

[21:43] * Ness takes a step back in anticipation of the bad things that may happen now that Mieko has touched it

[21:43] * LordBarrius blinks. "And why me? Just because it happens to fall into an area I'm familiar with? You do know my distaste for such foreign magics that enter my system without my consent." Despite this, he moves until he is within a few feet of the door and gazes the length of it, still cautious.

[21:43] <Kazuma> then give it consent, duh

[21:43] <Rimblade> I do have to admit, I love the way that a single mysterious and darkling door can turn us all into paranoids. I mean, the chances of it expulsing anything REMOTELY dangerous upon TOUCH is simply infintismal.

[21:43] * Mieko looks over at LB, still touching the door. "Nothin's happening." *

[21:44] <Ness> Then YOU open it, Rim.

[21:44] * Kazuma waits for Falerin to pop up somewhere

[21:44] * bule slowly walks a bit closer.

[21:44] * LordBarrius grins slightly at Rimblade. "Clearly, you've not paid much attention to some of the foreign objects that pop up around here. Or you're being sarcastic, I never can tell."

[21:45] <Rimblade> Well, Barrius, I wouldn't discount either of those possibilities, but I think I just like getting in jiibes at people. And Ness, creative and strategic thinkers like me, who come up with 'Open the Door' should never EVER be wasted on implementation tasks. How mundane.

[21:46] <Rimblade> I WOULD, however, suggest that standing here talking doesn't do much. If no one in here is brave enough to boldly try the door's knob, I suggest we ignore it and go back to doing nothing.

[21:46] <bule> You do something then.

[21:46] <Ness> Somebody flip a coin

[21:46] * Mieko laughs at Rim's comment and reaches to turn the doorknob *

[21:46] <bule> All talk and no action.

[21:46] <Kazuma> Mieko, You're doomed.

[21:47] * LordBarrius eyes Mieko. "So I've noticed....still, the presense is strange. We might want to remain cau...." He frowns slightly as Mieko reaches for the doorknob.

[21:47] * Kazuma ducks behind the Sofa

[21:47] * bule steps back.

[21:47] <Rimblade> Lord Barrius, if there's one bit of wisdom my years have taught me, it's that...

[21:47] <Rimblade> Caution is for SISSIES!

[21:47] * Mieko turns the knob and tugs at the door *

[21:47] * Damsel takes a few steps toward Mieko, being sure to be out of the range of the door should it swing open.

[21:48] * bule looks at the door with caution.

[21:49] <Rimblade> Is it stuck, then?

[21:49] * Mieko tugs again *

[21:49] <Rimblade> Stand back, Mieko.

[21:50] * Mieko takes a few steps back *

[21:50] * Rimblade glides at the door, full-tilt, 'WHAP's into it several times, and then bounces off to lie dazed on the floor.

[21:50] * bule looks at Rim.

[21:51] * Rimblade looks at bule.

[21:51] <Rimblade> 'S just knocking.

[21:51] <Dale> (( XD ))

[21:51] * LordBarrius can't help but grin slightly at Rimblade's actions.

[21:51] * bule looks back at the door.

[21:51] <Kazuma> good one Rim

[21:51] * Damsel supresses a grin with only moderate success, having to look away from his direction.

[21:51] * Mieko laughs at Rim and walks back to the door, touching the knob. "What's going on, anyway?" *

[21:52] * Kazuma takes notes for Lkeas.

[21:52] <Rimblade> Obviously, this door is EVIL, and sent here via dark witchery moste foul. I suggest we set it aflame.

[21:52] <bule> Right...

[21:52] <bule> Then when its on fire it opens. Then whos gonna go in?

[21:52] <Mieko> Can you burn darkness?

[21:54] <Rimblade> I dunno. Ohhh... it'll be like a scientifical thingy! Okay, so first, Mieko, you get the torch and hold it to the door, Damsel, you fan the fire, and Barrius and Kazuma- you do the ancient Fire-Dance of the Shamans of Idlerpgiko.

[21:54] <Rimblade> But be stately about it. We DO represent the last hope of entire worlds.

[21:54] * Rimblade draws himself up proudly in time to trip and skid under a table.

[21:55] * Damsel lets her head hang and tries to hide her expression with a hand, but a strong shaking of her shoulders remains to give away her laughter.

[21:56] <Rimblade> Alright, if the door won't open, and you're all too lazy to burn it, we must attempt to discern the dimensions behind it.

[21:56] <Rimblade> First thing's first, we need to discover how large the space behind it is.

[21:56] * LordBarrius has to bring a hand to his own face to muffle his laughter, though he tries to keep his attention on the door.

[21:57] <Rimblade> To do this, the Swiss Scientists of Terra have developed a technique by which unfocused sound waves may be spread out and returned using only the voice, like echolocation.

[21:58] <>Ambiance<> The "glowing" spreads out

[21:58] * Rimblade mutters something about uncreative grunts.

[21:58] <bule> My throat is uh sore...

[21:59] * bule looks toward the door with a bigger arua.

[21:59] <Rimblade> Hrmm. That is RARELY a good sign.

[21:59] * Damsel takes a small involuntary step backwards as she notices the spreading of the darkness.

[21:59] * Mieko looks at the sides of the door, still touching the knob. "Pretty." *

[21:59] <Damsel> "I must agree with you on that point, Rimblade..."

[21:59] <>Ambiance<> The "door" swings open

[22:00] * LordBarrius , still a few feet from actual contact with the door, doesn't flinch at the aura's spreading, though he eyes the door as it opens.

[22:00] * bule looks at the open door.

[22:00] <bule> Its open..

[22:00] * Reality sets mode: +v Kazuma

[22:00] * Mieko steps back before it can whack her in the face *

[22:00] * Dale stands and walks over to the door.

[22:00] <Rimblade> My plan succeeded!

[22:00] * Mieko looks into the open doorway, curious. *

[22:00] * Kazuma peers through the door. Expecting to see Falerin.

[22:00] <>Ambiance<> A chill takes all in the abode in it's grasp. It is oddly not a cold caused by temperature but by something internal. Its form is dilute but VERY noticeable.

[22:01] <Rimblade> This is even more rarely a good sign.

[22:01] <Kazuma> Is it cold in here, or is it me?

[22:01] * Dale shivers.

[22:01] * Damsel stiffens slightly and takes a few steps backwards before she can stop herself. "Mieko, be careful..."

[22:01] * Mieko frowns and slightly shakes, but is still standing near the door *

[22:01] <>Ambiance<> The chill is decidedly familiar in an odd way.

[22:01] * bule wraps his arms around him.

[22:01] <Rimblade> Okay, this makes me uncomfortable.

[22:02] * Kazuma bunches up but gets an odd Deja Vu feeling

[22:02] <>Ambiance<> Not so much as if you know it more like it knows you....

[22:02] * Rimblade slips out the door.

[22:02] * LordBarrius grits his teeth at the chill, trying to force it to the back of his mind, and fighting to keep his focus on the doorway itself.

[22:03] * Kazuma attempts to clear his mind, but to no avail

[22:03] * bule looks at the door still a bit chilled.

[22:03] * Mieko gasps at the cold, but seems to be stuck near the doorway *

[22:03] * Ness shivers

[22:03] * Damsel shakes her head, as if trying to dismiss a feeling. "It might be best to give the door a wide berth..."

[22:03] * Kazuma shivers when he attempts to speak

[22:04] <Mieko> I-I can't...move...

[22:04] * Aaronrules380 wakes up

[22:04] <Aaronrules380> What's this chill

[22:04] * Damsel frowns. "Oh no..."

[22:04] * Ness shrugs

[22:04] <Ness> Could be the Cold

[22:04] <Voice> (From beyond the Doorway) I am sorry to disturb you Mr. Twain.... are you busy?

[22:05] * Damsel starts forward then stops as a thought strikes her. "If this is..."

[22:05] * bule listens in closely.

[22:05] * Ness looks at Dmasel "What are you thinking?

[22:05] * LordBarrius listens quietly, still for the most part ignoring the chill, his focus now on the voice beyond the doorway.

[22:05] * Dale freezes where he stands, petrified.

[22:05] * Damsel shakes her head. "If this is the Cold... touching her will only get us trapped too..."

[22:05] <SecondVoice> (testily) : I am VERY BUSY. And I asked you NOT to call me that....

[22:07] * Mieko continues shivering *

[22:12] * Damsel mutters quietly, "We're always being watched."

[22:15:11] * Damsel shakes her head again, clearing away some thoughts and looks everyone over quickly. "Is everyone all right?"

[22:15:42] * LordBarrius nods slowly in acknowledgement of Damsel's query, though keeping his gaze on Mieko in careful analysis. "Are you certain?"

[22:28:31] * Damsel inclines her head in agreement. "Indeed. I have been attempting to find out more about the prominent family structure of the Twains for a few days now..."

[22:36:06] * Damsel waves a hand in front of her. "No, no. Not that I think. At least I knew Ryuusei was heading up NOVA after Matthew Twain's death..."

[22:48:54] <Rif> Its not the other names I'm focusing on right now. I'm just focusing on that name specifically. If the reason he didn't go by Robert Twain was because he simply hated his step father, then he'd NEVER use it.

[22:49:37] <Amilara> I would have to suggest he talked to you before hiding his identity for obvious reasons. Any who dealt with the rather blatant Ryuusei would not want to listen to anything he said.
