<>Ambiance:<> Mariel appears
<Zeltan> Greetings...
* Elaith looks over at the deity. "Hello!"
<Elaith> How do things fare?
* Zeltan circles the words "darkness"
<I> question much of what I see
<Zeltan> Looks can be deceiving...
<Zeltan> But pray tell us of you did you see.
* Mariel looks at the hourglass still sitting there.
<Mariel> that damned thing has to go
* Zeltan follows Mariel's gaze to the hourglass.
<Mariel> as for what I saw
<Mariel> I am going over recent information from what can only now be assumed to be an alternate future
* Zeltan tilts his head. "Hmm..."
<Mariel> If something were to happen and you had to choose between trusting your LoreMaster and trusting Daniel, Maxwell, et al.
<Mariel> How would truthseekers cope with the conflict.
<Mariel> I really do wonder.
* Zeltan frowns slightly. "It's a difficult choice, I admit."
<Jeice> ((Darn it, my character didn't hear that due to still being asleep!))
<Elaith> It would undoubtedly cause in-fighting and a schism of trust.
<Zeltan> ((wake him up then >>))
<Elaith> We are not the most peaceable of groups in the first place.
<Mariel> How fascinating....
* Jeice rolls over in his sleep, the book slips off his face and hits the floor. Jeice stirs at the thud.
* Elaith ponders a moment before continuing. "In fact, I think that we get along mostly by ignorance rather than acceptance."
<Zeltan> ((There we go))
* Jeice blinks. "Mariel?"
<Mariel> Shallow vapid unity is not unity.
<Mariel> Unity untried is no unity at all
<Zeltan> I can't say if the peace of the abode is by the seekers' will or simply due to the Loremaster's spell.
<Zeltan> Or orders...
* Jeice sits upright.
* Nicholas|Pokemon has quit IRC (Ping timeout )
<Jeice> Or more likely by mixed motivations, Zeltan.
<Elaith> Should such an event occur, I believe that we will remain with one binding factor- the prophetess. She seems to ground us all in reality, and more than sustains the rest of the cause. I would, however, hope that things would be able to be worked out. But it would undoubtedly start with heated argument before rationale took over if our past debates have shown anything.
<Elaith> ((*out, but))
<Jeice> What's this about arguing?
<Zeltan> Yet, the Archivist will bear the heavy burden of who to trust.
<Elaith> As Archivist her stance does not change, as she will continue to archive both, but the stress will be instead placed upon the admiration she receives from the rest of us.
<Zeltan> Your Highness, Mariel has questioned us about the subject of trust should there be a day when we're forced to choose between Loremaster and The Order.
<Elaith> The archives are as much about recording the history of these events as it is about the events themselves.
<Jeice> I would assume the Loremaster over the Order...
<Zeltan> Don't be too quick to make your decision.
<Elaith> I would not make that assumption yet, until we know what causes the choice.
<Jeice> What would give the Order an edge on information?
<Zeltan> ((brb. bath time >>))
<Zeltan> Cor-Demi I assume.
<Jeice> Lies maybe... and Cor-demi...
* Zeltan falls silent.
<Jeice> But Falerin is a diety with seeming information networks, and they are possibly from an alternate world anyhow.
<Elaith> Either way, when the choice is presented, we will all have to consider things then, and not only that, but consider them from both viewpoints.
<Elaith> I imagine it would be incredibly difficult to try and see both paths at once, but we will still have to do our best to see the end of each.
<Jeice> ((Jeice didn't hear you say Daniel earlier, and is basing his thinking without considering him.))
<Mariel> You shall fail
<Mariel> You cannot see the end choice of either.
<Jeice> I'm not surprised at that.
<Jeice> The future is not set in stone.
<Mariel> One involves manipulations and time. One involves the intellect of a deity.
<Mariel> And the future opens like a river not a stream.
<Mariel> This is not a choice you can make based on anything save
<Jeice> I suppose we'll have to ask some appropriate questions, to see who is more knowledgable.
<Mariel> "blind" faith
<Jeice> If Falerin knows how Trinity works, I'll be pretty sure to follow him.
<Jeice> If not, then I can only go by what the Order knows, if they do know.
<Elaith> If faith is the only factor, then my choice is already made. I will be following Falerin.
<Zeltan> Faith...
<Mariel> If something were to happen and you had to choose between trusting your LoreMaster and trusting Daniel, Maxwell, et al. it shall be far more dramatic then just a difference of opinion on path to take
<Zeltan> We'll be doing The'galin's work..
<Jeice> Daniel? Hm... that's a bit more complicated than I thought.
<Jeice> Daniel has gone through it all...
<Mariel> If something of that sort were to happen... Where the Messenger and Falerin directly contradict each other for instance
<Mariel> Could be quite unpleasant
<Jeice> I would have to figure out the right question, and see if I can figure out who has the firmer grasp of the situation.
<Zeltan> Then the choice will only prove more difficult to make.
<Mariel> I do hope you are prepared for that "hypothetical" situation.
<Jeice> But... Falerin could take it badly...
<Mariel> And your majesty if it is not a matter of just knowledge
<Mariel> If the two are actually at war with each other
<Zeltan> War?
<Mariel> If they are not just of differing opinion but are instead in diametric opposition
<Jeice> I had not considered that possibility.
<Mariel> You seem to think I meant the first thing you highness
<Mariel> I do not
<Mariel> I am implying you are in a situation where you can only TRUST one of them about ANYTHING
<Jeice> I'd think Daniel is conserned about the survival of Lore... but Falerin has been such a help...
<Jeice> ((concerned: *))
<Mariel> Is that what Daniel is concerned about...
<Zeltan> Yet Caelestia will remain his priority...
<Mariel> Will it...?
<Mariel> No answers only questions
* Zeltan nods grimly.
<Elaith> We will have to see what causes the opposition in this scenario.
<Jeice> I do not know Daniel's motivations very well, and I do not know whether Falerin will help The`Galin through opposition or assisting...
<Mariel> Does that matter
<Mariel> You said earlier "We would be serving The'Galin"
<Zeltan> But trusting one may lead to the distrust of the other.
<Mariel> My only question is... "When were you not"
<Jeice> If Falerin is helping The`Galin through the destruction, then we'd need to follow Daniel. If Falerin is helping by giving us a fighting chance, then we should follow him.
<Jeice> It has never been confirmed where either stands.
<Mariel> The adult daniel comes from a world that is not yours.. remember that
<Elaith> And not all of us have saving Lore as our highest priorities within the Seekers either.
<Mariel> And Falerin IS the god of evil
<Jeice> There is trouble with both.
<Mariel> Daniel does not neccesary want to save your world so much as ensure the arrival of his own.
<Mariel> Or some close variant thereof.
<Zeltan> You mean...
<Mariel> And of course... neither of them may be in conflict at all
<Jeice> What is so great about his world though?
<Mariel> Everything I said here after all is Rhetorical
<Mariel> He is in it...
<Mariel> Falerin's involvement in Lore is distanced
<Mariel> Daniel's is self involved
<Mariel> And of course... neither of them may be in conflict at all
<Mariel> Everything I said here after all is Rhetorical
<Jeice> But they are possibilities we need be aware of.
<Mariel> And yet none of it was at all accidental...
<Jeice> None of what you said?
<Mariel> Yes they are... Now one thing I am struggling with...
<Mariel> What sense does a being breathing telepathic energy make?
<Mariel> Since when is "The Cold" a susbtance
<Zeltan> Living on..energy?
<Jeice> That is what I have been wondering too.
<Mariel> Curious...
* Zeltan thinks about the Drak'erens.
<>Ambiance:<> Mariel vanishes
<Jeice> I should have asked Daniel when I considered it...
<Jeice> Darkness dragons breath shadows though.
<Jeice> And they control those in the shadow.
<Zeltan> Much as we, I, live on magic, the Drak'eren breathe air.
<Jeice> So maybe it is possible.
<Mariel> They may breathe out shadow and control shadow but I do assure you they breathe oxygen, like most everything else
<Mariel> How can you breathe in something that exists only in the mind
<Jeice> Hm. What kind of bizzare creature...?
<Zeltan> Something created by the mind?
<Jeice> Could Daniel have meant that as a figure of speach?
<Mariel> They are not breathing in Mana afterall or Chi. Whatever psionics might power it. These beings have been described as breathing cold"
* Zeltan brings up a scroll:
<Jeice> Could instead they just use the Cold in extreme amounts or constantly?
<Zeltan> [17:04] Zeltan: This Tytoa knows the Cold?
<Zeltan> [17:04] The_Messenger: Oh my yes, they breath it.
<Zeltan> [17:04] The_Messenger: They can not live without it.
<Mariel> They cannot live without being psionically attacked?
<Jeice> That is odd...
<Jeice> I should have asked Daniel about the Cold when it came to mind!
<Mariel> Something far more strange is occuring here. Perhaps another problem of scope.
* Jeice beats a fist on the couch.
<Jeice> Do you think there would be another way to contact Daniel before he arrives on Lore?
<Zeltan> Last we heard he's coming to Lore.
<Jeice> He rashly rushed off before the last chat was over.
<Zeltan> Unless we can find some way to contact him immediately after arrival or stop him from making the journey.
<Mariel> I actually have observed those beings however... it is true....
<Jeice> How is it then? What exactly is the Cold?
<Mariel> Consider the following. Many dragons even nonfire ones.... breathe fire...
<Jeice> They must be frightening creatures...
<Mariel> but does that mean that dragons power their biological processes by it?
<Jeice> I don't think so...
<Mariel> The analogy breaks down here. As the Tyota apparent do.
<Jeice> Do they feed on emotion?
<Jeice> I'm a bit... confused.
<Mariel> They are physical beings. They require oxygen and nourishment too
<Jeice> Is it simply that they are constantly producing the Cold?
<Mariel> There is a terran fiction. And fiction is just facts from another universe seen darkly remember, there is a Terran Fiction... called Star Trek....
<Zeltan> I'm afraid I'm not familiar with it...
<Jeice> I'm listening...
<Mariel> Study closely that fiction and in particular the front line warriors of the Dominion.
<Mariel> Psionics arrise via mental and neurological processeses
* Mariel vanishes
[07:46] :<+Zeltan> Let's see.
[07:47] : * Zeltan speaks to the watch "Harkel, if you here this, send information on the Terran fictionknown as Star Trek, particularly the Dominion and their front line warriors."
[07:49] : * Jeice opens one of his familiar portals, a small one, and slips a note through.
[07:56] :<>Ambiance:<> A slightly chubby white human hand with badly chewed fingernails holdsanother note through the same portal Jeice just used.
[07:56] RPG Command on #darkabode Originated With Jeice
[07:57] : * Jeice takes the note and closes the portal as the hand slips out of sight.
[07:57] : * Jeice begins reading.
[07:59] :<&Jeice> The amount of relevent information is somewhat pathetic.
[08:00] :<&Jeice> Anyone want to know the contents of this?
[08:00] : * Jeice looks up.
[08:01] : * Jeice walks to a central table (or whatever it is Lkeas uses) and places the note on it. Itappears to be a freshly printed sheet of paper displaying this page: [1]
