[16:38] <Mariel> though often they have had storied pasts with much more belief in magic prevelant

[16:38] <Mariel> The so called ages of reason take over and they look for easier answers to common problems

[16:39] * Damsel considers. "That would be why Avarie was able to find a spark of magic once she actually left her world... Not due to the necessary absence of it but once having seen it, she would have begun to believe. How interesting..."

[16:39] <Mariel> But it is like a square peg in a round hole. Many such worlds eventually have a reawakening of arcane awareness. Though it is with a new and differing perception.

[16:41] <Mariel> Other times magic develops as the anchor of technology itself. Caelestian scientists have invented the internal combustion engine, and several other earth technologies. However the cost of such is prohibitvely ridiculous and the damage such does absurdly ludicrous compared to apportation

[16:43] <Mariel> So such technologies are in their infancy. Whereas by contrast the Caelestian computer program is actually about 275 years superior to earths

[16:43] <Mariel> as the things that a computer does have no real practical magical equivalent

[16:44] <Mariel> Heat redirection and cooling spells make a rather handy "active" heat sink

[16:44] <Mariel> Monks making pacts with diabolic lords. How very contradictory.

[16:45] <Mariel> That individual must clearly have been a rather bad monk.

[16:45] * Kakashi_Truth puts his hand to his ear and nods slightly. "We've found a weapon that was attempted to be disposed of. It's hilt was still visible however. Leaving it to be found. We're testing it as we speak."

[16:46] <[MPG]Iago> Yeah... he invited quite a horde of demonic forces into his monastery, who proceeded to slaughter all of his friends and take a few important relics... in turn he was granted immortality

[16:46] <Mariel> Almost unfortunately guns were an exception to that rule. While magic could kill even more effectively then guns it was limited to the magi.

[16:46] <Brink> Which one do want to know first, Civil war or magical discussion?

[16:47] <Mariel> And to a lesser extent the clerics

[16:47] <Mariel> Guns afforded a practical ability for the masses to kill each other

[16:47] <[MPG]Iago> But... as with any pact where one side has alterior motives, Alsion was consigned to a fate worse than death... to continue to act as a parasitic persona until the end of time

[16:47] <Fulcan> ...? Someone care to fill me in...?

[16:47] <Mariel> And magical enhancement made them even more deadly

[16:47] <Deathbringer> Yeah... demon lords normally get the better end of the deal...

[16:47] * Damsel frowns at the possibility of such things.

[16:48] <Kakashi_Truth> I asked which you want to knwo first, Civil War, or Magical Discusion?

[16:48] <Mariel> For my own part civil war rather depresses me

[16:48] <[MPG]Iago> Well... I got the shaft... normal guy, has a crazy persona stuck in him, goes nuts, nearly kills someone and then they send me out of my dimension

[16:48] <Kakashi_Truth> No offense Mariel but that was targeted at Fulcan.

[16:49] * Damsel dips her head slightly, again attempting to hide a grin.
