SLRS - Little Grebe 1 on river – my first for this stretch, Cormorant 1, Moorhen 7, Mallard 3, BHG – several around, and 13 over S at 4pm, Green Woodpecker 1, GSW 1, Kestrel 1m, Wren 2, Mistle Thrush 1, Song Thrush 2 singing, Blackbird 5, Fieldfare c10, Redwing 3, Stonechat - pair at top end, Crow c10, Jackdaw c10, Rook 7 S at 4:20 heading for roost. , Wood Pigeon total of 100?, Starling c10, Magpie 12, Chaffinch c10, Greenfinch 13, Dunnock 5, Robin 1, Blue tit 1 - John Slee

3rd February

Little Hadham south east - 1 common buzzard, 1 adult lbbg, 14 BHG, 1 2nd cy herring gull, 1 reed bunting, 1 green woodpecker, usual tits and finches - Jono Forgham

Stort Park Farm and fields/woods west of Bishops Way - Goldfinch, Fieldfare , Redwing (2) (then mixed flock with Fieldfare), Siskin (1) (feeding in Alders alongside Bishops Way), Common Buzzard (loped over heading east), Large party of Long Tailed Tit, Stock Dove (1) - Steve Butler Kevin Hanrahan

Albury Lodge - Fieldfare 250+ - Mick East

Stort park farm - Merlin chasing linnets. Stonechat 2. Golden plover 33. - Graeme J Smith

SLRS/Pishiobury Park - Great Tit, Starling, House Sparrow, Dunnock, Blue Tit, Song Thrush, Mistle Thrush, Blackbird, Fieldfare, Redwing (mixed flock with above), Crow, Jackdaw, Magpie, Wood Pigeon, Stock Dove (4), Collared Dove, Bullfinch (pair), Greenfinch, Chaffinch, Moorhen, Mallard, Black Headed Gull (C85), Common Gull (15), Long Tailed Tit, Pied Wagtail, Wren, Grey Heron, Robin, Jay, Green Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Highlight was a Stoat attempting and eventually succeeding in dragging, a fully grown Rabbit, in to cover alongside a small path alongside the railway track. - Steve Butler

SAL - coot, moorhen, tufted duck, blue tit, greenfinch, robin, green woodpecker, corvids, teal, and not a lot else. Cut our loses and headed for Hatfield Forest lake. Added gadwall and had a superb fly past by c40 teal which eventually landed on the lake. No sign of the mandarin, but BHG, common gull, female bullfinch. Flock of redwing near carpark showed well. Total species count in the region of 35 - Summercroft Bird Club

Allen’s Green on sat lunchtime. - Fieldfare – one flock of 84 south of Allen’s Green, one flock of 100 + 25 Redwing at Trimm’s Green – road from Allen’s Green Golden Plover – one flock by road N from Allen’s Green, one flock of 130 just S of Matham’s Wood - John Slee

1st Febuary

SLRS and surround 13.45-14.30 - 2 pairs of Stonechat at far North end of scrape,53 BHG,5 Moorhen,5 Jackdaw,2 Green woodpeckers,Great tits all over,4 Carrion Crow,Jay over (s),many Mallard pairs, Through woods had Bullfinch(m),Chaffinch all over,Blue tits,(c 15) Redwing,7 Wood pigeon, 2 Wrens, LTT through, and finally stood under a Great Spotted Woodpecker boring a fresh hole. - Kevin Hanrahan
