Hatfield Forest - left 0930 - 2 Green Sandpiper (more than a coincidence), Grey Heron, Stock Dove, Teal, Great-crested Grebe still glued to nest, about 30 Canadas to join the various ferals there already. Pair of Blackcap, Whitethroat and one Marsh Tit. Plenty of Goldfinch, quite a few Robin, one Dunnock and 2 Jays. Nuthatch calling. - David Arch

Hayter, Spellbrook (west) - 5 Red-legged Partridge on North-west field, 3 Meadow Pipit S, 3 Common Buzzard all day noisily in treeline just 100 yards North from Hayter is very odd indeed, occasionally grounding in North-west field. 4 seperate sightings of more than two birds!
Stortford Park Farm (west) - nearly all fields on this patch have been ploughed since my last visit with the Southern Field (beside the Hobbys) being turned as I passed. 1 Common Whitethroat, 1 Skylark S, 2 Kestrel, 4 Yellow Wagtail feeding on fields flying South at 1700 Hrs, 1 Meadow Pipit S, c.120 Jackdaw, 50+ Rook, 15+ LBBGull west. NO HOBBYS.
Honeysuckle Close - 1 Meadow Pipit South over my house makes 19 for the day. Not loads but interesting to note that I saw them over at all sites visited - Graeme J. Smith

SAL - 6 Little Grebe (1Ad, 5juvs), 3 Cormorant (all juvs, came in from SE, circled and left SW @ 07:20), 1 Grey Heron, 103 Mallard, 4 Teal, 5 Tufted Duck (F + 3 juvs, IF- but no sign of the old injured F), 1 Kestrel, 18 Coot (includes the 'orphan' juv - no attention from any adults), 1 Little Ringed Plover (juv), 2 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 G S Woodpecker, 4 Swift, 1 Skylark, 2 Grey Wagtail, 2 Swallow (ad & juv), 7 House Martin, 2 Sand Martin, 8+ Reed Warbler (includes 3 singing M's), 3 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Willow Warbler (singing M), 5 Phyllosc's (spp.), Goldfinch, 2 Bullfinch, 3 Yellowhammer (inclu 2 singing M's), 2 Reed Bunting
