SAL - 0745 - 2 Green Sandpiper (left towards Hatfield Forest - see below), 2 Mute Swan, 2 Grey Wagtail, 2 Jays otherwise the local House Martins out and about and the Little Grebes present and correct and Mallards and Coot and Moorhen.

Hatfield Forest - left 0930 - 2 Green Sandpiper (more than a coincidence), Grey Heron, Stock Dove, Teal, Great-crested Grebe still glued to nest, about 30 Canadas to join the various ferals there already. Pair of Blackcap, Whitethroat and one Marsh Tit. Plenty of Goldfinch, quite a few Robin, one Dunnock and 2 Jays. Nuthatch calling. - David Arch

Trims Green - 14 Linnet S, 13 Meadow Pipit S, 40+ LBBGull N, 27 BHGull N, 1 Cmn Gull N, 1 Reed Bunting caling from around Lysander Park, 13 Sockdove (5 local, 7 W and 2 S, 2 Common Buzzard South, 50+ Starling SW, 1 Yellow Wagtail S and 2 Kestrel hunting NO LINNET.

Hayter, Spellbrook (west) - 5 Red-legged Partridge on North-west field, 3 Meadow Pipit S, 3 Common Buzzard all day noisily in treeline just 100 yards North from Hayter is very odd indeed, occasionally grounding in North-west field. 4 seperate sightings of more than two birds!

Stortford Park Farm (west) - nearly all fields on this patch have been ploughed since my last visit with the Southern Field (beside the Hobbys) being turned as I passed. 1 Common Whitethroat, 1 Skylark S, 2 Kestrel, 4 Yellow Wagtail feeding on fields flying South at 1700 Hrs, 1 Meadow Pipit S, c.120 Jackdaw, 50+ Rook, 15+ LBBGull west. NO HOBBYS.

Honeysuckle Close - 1 Meadow Pipit South over my house makes 19 for the day. Not loads but interesting to note that I saw them over at all sites visited - Graeme J. Smith
