Policies
- Main Page - Our general policy
- Respect Policy - How you are to act toward the Wiki Staff and other members.
- Account Policy - For keeping your account, and your identity safe
- Privacy Policy - To also ensure your identity and wellbeing
- User Page Policy - What users need to know before they edit their user page.
- Image Use - What images are permitted, and what to do with them.
- Protection Policy - Mainly for Sysop users, but some rules also apply to members.
Please follow these terms while uploading:
1) BIONICLE related images ONLY - Only BIONICLE related images are to be uploaded. No personal images like your cat, your "expensive" sofa or your "beautifully decorated" window.
2) No Direct Linking - Please read.
3) Absolutely NO personal pictures. - Please use Maj or other image hosting sites for uploading personal pictures.
4) No fan-made MOCs.
5) No Pornography or Sexual Innuendos -- This should be simple logic, but it will be stated anyways. Nothing sexual, AT ALL.
6) Do not upload images to use as an example. If you wish to show something in an image, or ask if an image can be used on the site, host it elsewhere and link to it so it can be looked at. Do not upload it.
Although these next rules should be common sense, it is still good to have them:
For personal images from a Hosting Site...
1) No religious content - Just as BIONICLE doesn't involve religion, neither do we. So don't have a picture of a cross or the Star of David.
2) Nothing that discriminates - against a certain sex, race, gender, nationality, etc. It simply will not be tolerated on this Wiki.
3) No Pornagraphy or Sexual Innuendos - This should be simple logic, but it will be stated anyways. Nothing sexual, AT ALL.
Direct Linking
When you use an image that's from another site, that image is hosted somewhere on the Internet. When you use an image, the site that it's hosted on must pay money for the use of bandwidth; therefore, if you use an image from a website without it's consent, you are stealing bandwidth, and money. That's called Direct Linking, and is removed from pages, because it's not allowed on the Wiki. There are some specific sites, called Image Hosting Sites, such as Maj.com and Brickshelf, that allow you to host your images there. If you direct link from your homepage or a Freewebs account, that’s okay, because it’s coming from yourself. They are only to be used on your own pages! For chronicle pages please just upload them as it is easier to use them.
Bottom line is, if the image is on a site you do not own or have permission to directly link to (like Brickshelf and Maj), you may not direct link to it.
