You currently live in a small fleet of ships, unless you request other wise you will be serving/living on the flagship, The Langley. Society is broke up between the techs, militants, and social workers.

[edit] Techs

Techs are the technichians that fix the ships and reasearch for a better future. Just because its their job to fix and reseach doesn't mean they are defenseless

Tech are rated by their proficeny in their jobs, 1,3,5,7,9

[edit] Tech Ranks (Job Proficiency)

"Job"-X

1 – Helper (recruits or retrainees in technical school)

3 – Apprentice (technical school graduates applying and expanding their job skills)

5 – Journeyman (experienced Techs functioning as front-line technicians and initial trainers)

7 – Craftsman (Tech with many years of experience in the specialty, responsible for supervision and training)

9 – Superintendent (Techs with +20 years on the job, responsible for broad supervision)

Militants are the Marines, Pilots and Crewmen who are tasked with the Defense of the Fleet.

++Marines are the ground pounders, On the ground they are a fearsome force to behold, They run all aspects of boarding and internal defense troops. Tend to be very brash, but are always willing to defend the fleet.

++Pilots are usually officers in charge of the Corvettes and Snubs. They know how to fly their specific ships.

++Crewmen are the system managers, defensive gunners and weapon engineers.

Officer ranks:

o-1 = Ensign

o-2 = Liutenant

o-3 = Captain

o-4 = Junior Commander

o-5 = Senior Commander

o-6 = Elder

Social Workers are all the other non-combatant, non-technical jobs required for a working society, this includes medical staff, teachers, etc. However just because their not soldiers or techs doesn't make them defenseless, most are trained at the very least in how to fight as a militia should their ships be boarded.

"Children of the Sky"

Theme: "I leave the World Today" -Baracuda

Appearance: if you don't know what a human looks like, look around, maybe a mirror would be useful. [anything a natural human might be like]

Known Abilities: Occasional Psychic [empath, telekinetic strength]

Common knowledge: Children of an overly violent race. The children aboard the ships have been accultured to be more tolerant, more one with the concept of "humanity". No real religion short of what was taught to them by the Zeranati, a zen-like belief of finding harmony with the universe, one's place within the grand circle of life. Psychics are about 1 in 100 chance. approx 99% are merely empaths, meaning they can feel only the loudest emotions of the people around them, it's a passive ability and few have figured out how to ignore it. The Telekinetics ability only manifests itself when one is attempting a strenuos activity that requires more muscle power then they posses, it then merely assists in the action. At this time there is no formal training for those with psychic ability, it tends to stay within family trees although a Psy being born to non-psy in not unheard of and happens every now and then. What little training some have is friends or family helping them out.

"The Benefactors"

Theme: "Wherever I May Roam" -Metallica

Appearance: tall, skinny, dark brown skin, overall very humanoid looking, Well known for their crimson hair, eyes have a slit style pupil.

Known Abilities: known non-verbal communicators [transmission of thoughts]

Common Knowledge: The reason that a small organization was able to gather children and get them off the planet. Apparently was a warmongering race that seems to be trying to make amends for their past. They refuse to let anyone who is not full Zeranati, not even their own Half-Breed children, know their heritage. There is a lot that the Zeranati is not telling the rest of the fleet.

"Half-Breeds"

Theme: "Dark Side Of The Moon" -Ernesto Vs Bastian

Appearence: Very pale skin, thin (if female, nearly flat chested), always with crimsion hair and their eyes have a slit style pupil.

Known Abilites: Known Non-Verbal Communicators, Known Empaths.

Common Knowledge: It was only a matter of time that some humans and the Zeranati would "hook up", these children are accepted as what they are, fellow "Children of the Sky". Most Chimera tend to be very introverted, they worry far too much. When one has a parent that refuses to tell them their heritage, the history of the Zeranati, such a child will feel lost in the universe. As an Empath they are constantly bombarded by the emotions of those around them, tend to make one shy away from people or try their hardest to shut people out. Just because they can speak to people with out using their vocal cords does not mean that they cannot speak. They easily can, but tend to roll their R's with out even trying and it takes a lot of effort not to. As a further insult to them, there has yet to be a child born to or fathered by a Chimera.

The Zeranati have provided their people to include the humans with Artificial Birth Technolgy, ie. Artifical wombs that allow same sex couples to have a child.

The most common parent combo for the Chimera are a Male Zeranati and a Human female for natural births, oddly enough Zeranati male-Human male are the most common parents to take advantage of the artifical birth systems.
