Dr Days and Temple Meads.
Bristol to Bath Section
Avonmeads. Requires a significant engineering input to allow for trains to use the Avonmeads loop, allowing through running without reversing as AART trains from Bath enter Bristol Temple Meads from the south. An east south junction next to the cinema will be needed and a new Station to serve the retail and leisure park could be constructed around St Phillips Marsh works, perhaps under the St Phillips Causeway. From Temple meads a new south to east junction would be needed.
St Annes. New station to serve St Annes and Broom Park areas. Could be located to the west of Birchwood Road.
Keynesham. Pre-existing no major improvements needed.
Saltford. Proposed new station to service the large village of Saltford. This stop could be located to the west of High Street or in the area around The Shallows.
Twerton. A new station to serve the west of the city should be possible around Walwyn Road.
Oldfield Park. Existing station with few improvements needed.
Bath. Bath is one of the main issues with the plan. Bath Spa station has only two platforms and is busy with regional and high speed national traffic. AART trains could not terminate at Bath Spa without inconveniency mainline operations. The only practical suggestion would have to be a new purpose built station to the east of Bath, around the Lambridge Area.
Lambridge. This new station to the east of Bath would be a purpose built terminating station for the AART service. There is space, although development would need to occur on a flood plain. With good pedestrian links across the Avon and Canal to the offices to the south and Lambridge to the north, the station could be a useful stop for the local area.
