Guardian Service

Guardian Service cookware was an aluminum cookware product that was sold by independent salesmen from the 1930s through 1956. The sales model resembled the Tupperware model, in which the salesman would work with a local "hostess" to throw a party and convince the guests to buy the cookware. (This is documented in Herman's 1940 journal for July 27.)
Guardian Service made prior to World War II has metal lids; because of metal rationing the company switched to glass lids during the war.
The Guardian Service that Herman and Jane purchased in July 1940 is still in use today, the pieces having been divided between their children.
