HB Journal for May 30, 1940
From Brackbillwiki
Memorial Day--in memory of those who have done many noble deeds in order that we might live in peace and safety.
Farmers insist on working and so they think that implement stores and machine shops should also wait on them. Therefore I worked most of the day.
Late in the afternoon I washed the car with Webby. We then went with Eunice & Val up to Marg & Willis's . We played croquet etc.
It was a bad rainy night and kind of suppressed us.
