The sun was shining brightly this morning when our kind Big Ben called us. We soon got up for we both had early morning work to do. Jane her washing, and I had potatoes to dust before the sun took the dew away.

At the mill, things were normal. I nearly finished the cleaning in the garret. The feed business was about the same.

Groffie brought cobs before supper. Supper was large & good. W. Wenger came just to see us. I hoed garden & Jane ironed. I quit at dark but she is still at it. —9:15 P.M. This is Wed. night, but Jane said "Old Man 'Usta' is dead."
