The sound of the rain took me back to the farm in mind. I thought I could sleep on and rest a-while longer. But I was sadly mistaken.

I was only miller and carpenter today. I didn't help downstairs one bit.

We got two nice presents yet today. Mother gave us peas & Grandma Y. cherries also.

It rained all day.

In the evening Yuninger brought Mother & I some of the Brackbill children. They looked the place over & seemed tickled. It still rains and is time to turn in.
