If the early bird catches the worm, we were entitled to one this morning for I was so early that, after I walked down to Earls, I had to wait for him no short time.

The feed business is picking up again. We were real busy on up until just before quitting time. We started the [[Hess's Mill|mill]] grinding again.

The weather is hot again. The shower last evening amounted to almost nothing for a little section right around here. The beetles are bad on many crop and the dry weather a few more.

After supper we fetched Grammy, Auntie, Mamma Y. etc. to visit us. After they left, who should come but [[Mary Jane]], Bros. & Kenny. We showed them through in like manner. We like company.

[[John]] went away in the afternoon and we did all right.

After supper we cleaned up and dressed up. I read--[[Jane Young|Jane]] went to the store. We sat on our new glider, a gift from [[Arthur S. Young|Dad Young]], until dark & then went inside and later to bed.

After supper we fetched Grammy, Auntie, Mamma Y. etc. to visit us. After they left, who should come but Mary Jane, Bros. & Kenny. We showed them through in like manner. We like company.
