Today was nice. The rain was no over yet this morning and so Jane didn't do the washing again. A few heavy showers made things a bit wetter.

Dick & I worked a good part of the time in the garret cleaning up. It was very dirty & dusty & hot, and both of us were sick of it till evening.

After supper Betty D. visited a little. I trimmed hedge till dark & went to N---s. Nancy was here for supper again, nicely.

The work was done early & now we read for a change.

-The sun was shining brightly this morning when our kind Big Ben called us. We soon got up for we both had early morning work to do. [[Jane Young|Jane]] her washing, and I had potatoes to dust before the sun took the dew away.
