Hess's Mill was where E. Herman Brackbill worked from 1937 to 1940. Also known as the New Milltown Roller Mill, the mill sits on a site that was continuously in use for milling from around 1750 through the mid-20th century.
A number of people worked at the mill at one point or another. It was managed by John Hess; this site includes a partial list of employees.
The mill currently houses an antiquarian bookshop.
