In the 2002 general elections the Movimiento Nacionalista Revolutionario (MNR) presented itself under the banner MNR-Nueva Alianza (MNR-NA). This alliance included the following parties: MBL, PS-1, VR-9, Eje Pachakuti, FREPAB, Poder Indio, and a number of independent candidates.
