In the 2002 general elections the MNR presented itself during the campaign under the banner MNR-Nueva Alianza (MNR-NA). This alliance included: MBL, PS-1, VR-9, Eje Pachakuti, FREPAB, Poder Indio, and a number of independent candidates. The ballot bore the MNR color and logo on the top portion of the ballot, with the MBL colors and logo below. For election results, see 2002 general elections.
