Novalis | Just looking at it from a completely disinterested standpoint, can you see the similarities between her and Nov? |
---|---|
Daisie | They're both Russian and snarky? |
Daisie | And...they both do magic. |
Daisie | Let me guess: you don't want me to play her because you think she's too much like Nov? |
Novalis | They a) are born of Russian parents. b) they grew up in England. c) they are magic users/medical experts. d) they smoke. e) they drink. f) they list themselves as 'cynics'. |
Novalis | I don't mind at all if you play a magic-user. It's just that "Klarmiya" is fairly derivative of Nov. I'm rather gratified she doesn't have prehensile hair, though. |
Daisie | Mmm. And of course she couldn't be someone who's been in my head for YEARS or anything. |
Daisie | And drinking and smoking are really unusual things to do. |
Novalis | I had a feeling you'd react like that. |
Daisie | I'm sorry, was I not supposed to point out possibilities other than the one you seem to want to believe? |
Daisie | You have /no idea/ how or where Miya came from. |
Novalis | Not at all. Feel free to believe as you choose. |
Daisie | I'm sorry if she threatens you somehow. |
Daisie | I certainly didn't mean for her to. |
Novalis | It's not that I'm threatened so much as that I'm a bit confused. Did you not notice the similarities? When I first saw her user info, I thought a) you were making fun of Nov, which is fine and expected, or b) you had something fairly complicated in mind. |
Daisie | I'm not making fun of Nov. I think Nov is a fine and wonderful character that I quite enjoy. That said, Miya's from a world that's been kicking about in my brain for the better part of a decade. |
Daisie | I will admit, Nov did inspire in me a fascination with Russian names, and I did change her name to make it Russian because I like them. |
Daisie | I was hoping that by this point the Nexus was a big enough sandbox for two snarky Russian women. I'm sorry if it isn't. |
