[edit] Pemnodang State
Pemnodang was chosen to be the seat of the coalition government based on the relative centrality and access to the world at large. The capital city, Huang Ji, is a bustling metropolis where tradition meets the needs of the new state economy. Business is carried out in systematic steps based on tradition and honor. A simple walk on the street requires immense attention to one's surroundings and subsequent actions around those of higher classes and duties. Few touches of industrialism have worked there way into Huang Ji, primarily the existence of two smelting and forging complexes. Beyond the terminus of the Grand Rial Railway, it has remained true to its roots. Citizens of Pemnodang are typically those that as aspire to be a part of the Wisemen's Bureaucracy, dealing with the needs of the states and districts therein in support of the Ancestors. Furthermore, research into alchemy and energy-related mechanisms finds its largest prevalence in its rolling hills. Pemnodang holds some of the most revered educational and knowledgeable institutions in the known world.
[edit] Nijira Province
Nijira is a relatively wild place. The human, elf, and half-elf inhabitants live in perfect harmony with the minority of orc and goblin clans that live in the more mountainous region. Lands in Nijira are not as fruitful for corps, thus the people of Nijira focused elsewhere - on the martial arts. Nijira is littered with academies and institutes (including the most eminent fighting institute, the Dao Te Tzu) designed to teach the Tradition of the Ancestors while maintaining one of the largest and most fearsome armies known. Roughly 60% of Nijira's citizens (both men and women) are either a member of a fighting school or currently serve in the Huang Army. The remaining farm and raise livestock in order to provide for the needs of these institutions. Industrialism does not exist in the Nijiran province, nor do most of its born citizens know about the world outside. It is rather isolated in the information exchange - both in and out.
[edit] Xian Co Province
The "Lazy Northlands," Xian Co is comprised of the most peaceful and spiritual peoples under the Huang banner. The Ancestors are said to still inhabit the lands, amounting in increased awareness and access to the spiritual realms. Agrarianism and asceticism are the two paths to fulfillment as seen in the eyes of resident peoples. The forests and plains bordering the North Expanse provide for the perfect place for one to come in tune with one's surroundings and place in the greater stream of the will of the Ancestors. Life is relatively uninterrupted by wandering beasts and anomalies - such are commonplace. The various shrines are common destinations for pilgrims looking for purpose or favor from the gods. Xian Co is the common ground between the mortal and the immortal.
[edit] Mancha
The Mancha people are a restless people. There exist few permanent settlements in Mancha, further complicating attempted relations between Mancha and its border with Distre. The majority of the people are rough and individualistic, viewing the value of the family above all others. These nomadic people wander the southern half of the Asakar Wastes, living off what they can hunt and fish. Mancha are pround. Mancha are suspicious. Mancha are, for all intents are purposes, a member of their own state - separate from the Alliance in all matters except those religious and spiritual. It is from this harsh territory that many find inner resolve and strength.
