The Greater Huang Alliance (abbr. GHS in Common) is a loose confederation of four semi-states united by the cause of the Ancestors under the flag of the Huang Dynasty. While the semi-states of Xian Co, Nijira, Pemnodang, and Mancha have existed as tribal peoples from the origin of the plane, the have existed as a cooperative state for the past few hundred years. While tensions do occasionally rise, the peoples under the banner of the Huang Dynasty represent a firm stronghold of traditionalism and naturalism.

The Greater Huang Alliance
With its seat in the Pemnodang region, the Greater Huang Alliance is ruled through a single-chambered Wisemen's Council, filled with elder appointed for-life representatives of the four states. The Council holds a significant amount of sway with regards to public attitudes and effective governance over the peoples. Without the support of the Wisemen's Council, the Mandated Emperor would have no legitimate power in the eyes of his governed. As such, the Greater Huang Alliance, while a place of relative wonder and technology, is a primarily agrarian and individualistic state, refusing to overhaul or change the traditional means of life with the advent of new elements. The arcane and the spiritual still reign supreme; honor and duty underly every action. Distinctions in duty and spiritual influence has resulted in clear-cut and nearly impregnable class barriers. The following is a list of the major class distinctions in order of importance:
1st: Ascetics and Religious Leaders
2nd: Warriors
3rd: Nobility
4th: State Officials
5th: Artisans
6th: Plebiscite
Just because a class is lower in the ranking order does not inherently constitute a higher class being able to "look down" or abuse the lower classes. On the contrary, there exists a universal understanding and respect between classes and their role in the duties that need to be fulfilled. However, those of lower classes can exercise less rights and typically have a poorer quality of life. Furthermore, the peoples of the Huang Alliance are very welcoming to foreigners, though they may disagree with their views and customs. Any offense performed by anyone inside of Huang Territory that dishonors or disgraces anything that these people stand for is considered an extremely grave offense and is punished by Marshal Court.
Pemnodang State
Pemnodang was chosen to be the seat of the coalition government based on the relative centrality and access to the world at large. The capital city, Huang Ji, is a bustling metropolis where tradition meets the needs of the new state economy. Business is carried out in systematic steps based on tradition and honor. A simple walk on the street requires immense attention to one's surroundings and subsequent actions around those of higher classes and duties. Few touches of industrialism have worked there way into Huang Ji, primarily the existence of two smelting and forging complexes. Beyond the terminus of the Grand Rial Railway, it has remained true to its roots. Citizens of Pemnodang are typically those that as aspire to be a part of the Wisemen's Bureaucracy, dealing with the needs of the states and districts therein in support of the Ancestors. Furthermore, research into alchemy and energy-related mechanisms finds its largest prevalence in its rolling hills. Pemnodang holds some of the most revered educational and knowledgeable institutions in the known world.
Nijira Province
Nijira is a relatively wild place. The human, elf, and half-elf inhabitants live in perfect harmony with the minority of orc and goblin clans that live in the more mountainous region. Lands in Nijira are not as fruitful for corps, thus the people of Nijira focused elsewhere - on the martial arts. Nijira is littered with academies and institutes (including the most eminent fighting institute, the Dao Te Tzu) designed to teach the Tradition of the Ancestors while maintaining one of the largest and most fearsome armies known. Roughly 60% of Nijira's citizens (both men and women) are either a member of a fighting school or currently serve in the Huang Army. The remaining farm and raise livestock in order to provide for the needs of these institutions. Industrialism does not exist in the Nijiran province, nor do most of its born citizens know about the world outside. It is rather isolated in the information exchange - both in and out.
Xian Co Province
The "Lazy Northlands," Xian Co is comprised of the most peaceful and spiritual peoples under the Huang banner. The Ancestors are said to still inhabit the lands, amounting in increased awareness and access to the spiritual realms. Agrarianism and asceticism are the two paths to fulfillment as seen in the eyes of resident peoples. The forests and plains bordering the North Expanse provide for the perfect place for one to come in tune with one's surroundings and place in the greater stream of the will of the Ancestors. Life is relatively uninterrupted by wandering beasts and anomalies - such are commonplace. The various shrines are common destinations for pilgrims looking for purpose or favor from the gods. Xian Co is the common ground between the mortal and the immortal.
Mancha
The Mancha people are a restless people. There exist few permanent settlements in Mancha, further complicating attempted relations between Mancha and its border with Distre. The majority of the people are rough and individualistic, viewing the value of the family above all others. These nomadic people wander the southern half of the Asakar Wastes, living off what they can hunt and fish. Mancha are pround. Mancha are suspicious. Mancha are, for all intents are purposes, a member of their own state - separate from the Alliance in all matters except those religious and spiritual. It is from this harsh territory that many find inner resolve and strength.
