The Freehold of Valyria is an old place. The Valyrians had lilac or indigo or violet eyes and hair of silver-gold or platinum white. A Valyrian custom was to wed brother to sister.
Before the Doom the ironsmiths of Valyria worked with both spell and hammer. A blade was folded back on itself a thousand times during the forging. Nothing holds an edge like Valyrian steel.
C. 100 bAL The greatsword Ice was made.
The Doom of Valyria happened and there was much chaos and struggle. Amongst the survivers were House Targaryen who fled to Dragonstone.
