- Bleach Ep. 37 - It's weird though that this I'm back into the routine of watching [as] Saturdays. Between Fanime and Sac-Con and everything in between, I haven't been able to watch Saturdays. Now that I actually did this weekend, I can review. For me, this episode was all about Chad's backstory - a backstory looped with **bleep**-beatings, **bleep**-beatings, and did I mention **bleep**-beatings (all upon Chad trying to kick some **bleep**)? From the other bits, I know that everyone has found a squad captain, and well...I can guess they're all batting each other. I just want to see if Chad can pull through, and what's going on with the others.
- Blood+ Ep 13 - It wasn't the episode that it was all hyped up to be, but the episode delivered. I'll give someone props to anyone who wants to reenact Vietnam with monsters, and have Saya kill them all - or everyone else who was carrying a shotgun or a machine gun. Hagi also delivers, but in the end it was all about Saya, and he almost got that masked dude. Looks like we'll be seeing them two together in future episodes. I also noticed we're inching closer to seeing Diva for the first time...let the fanboys rejoice.
- Robot Chicken Star Wars - I just watched this online (although I don't plan to watch it any further tonight on TV, but I might watch it again online later), and I thought it was really good, especially the fact Mr. Lucas was part of the team. Outside of the [as] anime, I usually just watch FG, ATHF, and Robot Chicken. In addition of bringing classic SW clips from past Robot Chicken episodes, they brought some fresh ones - all of them that made it worth the 30 minutes. Overall, I loved it.

- Bleach Ep. 38 - Two things important happened here. One, Captain Aizen is dead. Yes, the dude with the glasses, he's dead. But according to things that I have read or heard *cough*Wikipedia*cough*, there's more to this than meets the eye. The other thing: Ichigo got HIS **bleep** KICKED by Kenpachi Zaraki, and I mean HE GOT HIS ASSED KICKED. That's about it...
- Blood+ Ep. 14 - So, after everything that Saya has gone though, she finally gets to go back home and be...Saya pre-Vietnam. She meets Mao again, and there's some loving that was missing for awhile that came back. Either than that, there's nothing much else to say about this episode, but there are some bits that do set up later episodes...but, come on! Bring on Diva already!
- Poker Shootout @ The O - Yeah, I was writing it, but then I stopped. Why? La Révolution, the new AD fanfic. But really, that's an excuse, since the real reason I stopped because I felt like it. Besides, I might be plugging in more about La Révolution here more as the chapters get flowing and the plotline gets thicker like The Godfather. I've already put in my two chapters, 3 and 9, and so far they haven't failed to deliver. Since a lot more people want in now, I might have to wait it out a bit. But if you haven't seen the fic yet, go look at it.

- Bleach Ep. 39 - At first, I thought that dude was going to finish Ichigo off. But since it's been awhile since Ichigo and his master got together, I forgot what he looked like. Anyways, Ichigo went though some retraining in about 15 minutes after figuring out he'd forgot to train his zanpakuto, and before long he was given a "second chance" to finish the fight between him and Kenpachi. Despite the better effort, we found Ichigo lying on the floor dead at the end of the episode like the last episode. Way to man up, dude. Hey, at least you got your zanpakuto back.
- Blood+ Ep. 15 - Chalk it up to Shin-Chan. I didn't watch Blood+ last night because I thought Blood+ was going to be on at 12:30 when it was really on at 1:00am. A little bit too late for someone who had to wake up in order to work in the morning. But some instincts told me that there wasn't going to be much in this episode...and well, I was right. Probably more of "Saya's back" with some Mao dashed in there. It's like the beginning of Bleach allover again...wake me when something good happens.
- La Révolution - It's really funny...I posted my last column which talked about La Révolution at 9:41pm. At 9:44pm, 3 minutes, k_dawg posts Ch. 10. I had brought in my two characters - Heero and Riza, a married sniper team - in Ch. 3 in hopes in bringing them along for the ride. Well, that ride was cut short 7 chapters later...by k_dawg. Yes, my character was killed...by Emiri (Boxers). To be more specific, eviscerated. Yes, eviscerated...you know, guts and organs everywhere, that kind. My **bleep** got **bleep**ed before I could make it to 10 chapters. But what about Riza? Well, after an implied sex scene with Angel, she decides she can't live on without me, and commits suicide. Yeah...it's sad and all, but I couldn't ask for anymore of a kick-**bleep** exit. Now what does this do for future chapters when I write? Who knows, but I got a ton of scenarios that I might write up soon...meanwhile, we're waiting on Cille who's taking her sweet time to post Ch. 12. Now if you would go excuse me, I'm going to wait.

- Bleach Ep. 40 - And just when I thought Ichigo was dead, Kenpachi also fell after like a minute. And somehow someway, Yachiru manages to pick up "Kenny" and whisk him away. The funny thing about her appearing after both of them fell is that she's all excited and happy, even though it looks like both of them are dead. This episodes goes into the backstory of Kenpachi and Yachiru, which Tito Kube says he wants to go deeper later in the future. And he's right - there's a lot to this than what was presented in this episode. In other news, the seach party actually reached Rukia, but not after some "OMG YOU KILLED MY BROTHER!" drama and the appearance of Squad 6 Captain. Since you all know his name, I won't say it. But rest assured, someone is going to get knocked off that bridge. If I were them, get a rope and repel down that **bleep** tower.
- Blood+ Ep. 16 - Since I worked and I didn't catch the first run, I actually stayed up to catch the second run. In this episode we find Saya, Hagi, and the gang traveling to Mother Russia to pay visit to someone that has importance to Saya's well being. And what's the best way to travel across Russia? The Trans-siberian Railway, one of the most famous railway lines in the world. While riding the rails through frozen tundra, a whole lot of craps happens - including two of them monsters showing up on the train. A fight ensures, and in the end Saya, Hagi, and someone else get thrown off the train and into the frozen tundra in a Russian Winter. Afterwards, everyone else who didn't goes out and seaches for her. The problem is that the train didn't stop right after the three bailed, so you have to guess that they must be really far. Unless somehow they'll appear right where they stopped, all the screaming in the world couldn't help you find them. Yes, I'm looking at you Kai.
- Sac-Anime July - Friday is Sac-Anime. Unlike Fanime, this one is in Sacramento, my backyard. So for me, this one is more important because it's in my backyard but also I'm staffing there. I will be there from Friday to Sunday staffing, cosplaying, and just kicking it with all the guests of honor. Oh, did I mention that Crispin Freeman is going to be there? Yes, that man. He's going to be there, and I'm going to have a field day with him. I'm planning to start a thread soon in AD which will involve them telling me what questions they want me to ask Crispin Freeman. Of course, there's going to be two types of questions: real questions and fangirl/boy questions - because if I know anything, you know I'm going to get a ton of fangirl/boy questions. I will be live blogging there, so there will be no Burning next week.
7/22 - The (Very Belated) 1 Year Anniversary Special!!!
- One Year of Burning - I find it funny that I keep forgetting that in May 2006, I started HeeroYuy135 is Burning. You see, May 2007 was Fanime, so odds are I might of forgotten that milestone and for some reason I just remembered it now (and that I missed Bleach and Blood+ this week) so I decided to make this week the "(Very Belated) Anniversary Special!!!"
- Origins of the Poolside Rag - The first time I encountered the Poolside Rag was early in 2006, back when I was making my (fake) reign as RIF King. If you do remember that time, I had proclaimed myself to be the RIF King, despite not being a RIF (I was on a neutral side then, and still am...kinda). Since this thread has been up since that time, you can go back and see when I made the announcement about me being the King, then later on "how I was pretending so that I can get known" (or something to that extent). Yeah, those were some hard times on the boards...for reals.
- Fav. Moment - If I had to choose my favorite moment of Burning was the 4/29 edition...the week of the "Eureka Severed" episode. If you all don't remember that, that was when [as] aired an edited versrion of Ep. 50 of Eureka seveN, leaving out key parts of the episodes including part of Holland's monologue and the whole "1 Year Later" part afterwards. If you noticed, there are two parts to that review - the good part and the bad part. And if you noticed, the bad part is longer than the good part. That week is still the highest read on Fan Reviews (291) out of all the columns I did. Of course, the week after [as] aired the episode in its whole and, like everyone, backed off of [as]. One more thing about that episode: I so called that cut.
- Sac-Anime Summer 2007 - It's been a week since Sac-Anime was in full swing at the Red Lion Hotel in Sacramento. I still have all the memories - and some of the aches that came with it. Of course, there was some con drama in all flavors - to Masquerade **bleep** ups to security **bleep**s up to just about every **bleep** up in between. Yeah, I was on security that weekend, and everyone was all up on me because I had to peacebond their weapons to them - that's if it was either live steel or a gun. There was this Sephy that I had to turn away because I wouldn't allow him to carry his long-**bleep** sword; he came back with a makeshift sling, and I put that long-**bleep** sword to him. Yeah, people got mad at me, but hey it's my job to keep the peace and to make sure that coppers don't shoot at us when they think we have a real live gun or sword. I also had the pleasure of meeting Spike Spencer (again), Chris Patton, Lisa Furukawa, Voltare (he sang the theme song to Billy and Mandy), and a whole lot of other guests. But the one guest I really had the pleasure to meet is...well, Crispin Freeman. I saw him around many times during the weekend, hanging out with him, getting autographs, and getting to know the guy. Quick story: it was Saturday morning, and I caught Crispin again at the hotel resturant with his escort. I had a chance to say hi again, and I listened to the two talk. While that happened, I whipped out my iPod, went to the episodes of E7 that I had on my iPod, fast fowarded to a part were Holland spoke (it was Ep. 27, right at the end), and started comparing voices - the actual Crispin on my left ear, Holland on my right ear. Needless to say, I was like "Holy crap." So yeah, I made great friends with Crispin Freeman, and I feel bad for everyone else to had to sit here and wait for my updates...I'm looking at you Kohikki and Cille...and everyone else in AD.

- Bleach Ep. 44: As long nothing MAJOR has happened in the last few weeks, I think I'm good. I saw a different side of Ishida in this episode...a more bad-**bleep** version of them, complete with the pwnsome arrows that he uses. I thought for a second, though, that Mayuri Kurotsuchi was going to pwn the hell out of him when he summoned Ashisogi Jizou (which was a big-**bleep** **bleep**er), but our resident sewing expert came in the clutch and took that guy down! Unforunately, Ishida couldn't pull out the "BOOM HEADSHOT!" on Mayuri, who got away by using liquid. Hey, it sets up for a interesting rematch in the near future. But what got me was that when Ishida encountered Tousen, because at that point it was already over.
- Blood+ Ep. 20: The same concept applies for Blood+, although I might be slightly **bleep**ed in this department. All I took from this episode was that really Hagi should be hanging out with Diva (which we got to see more, but no facial just yet), and there's these bunch of dudes that hang out with Diva...if you want to call it "hanging out with Diva." There's a black US Navy person, a gay Frenchman (*cough*Kohikki*cough*), and Solomon who uped his cred after pwning those two at the end. We also find out that Kai really knows who Saya is...some crazy-**bleep** **bleep** who went **bleep** in 'Nam. But nothing compared to...Van Argeno. Yeah, our resident candy man returns, and somewhere in Kohikki's house Kohikki is rejoicing and fangasming. **bleep** he has a kick-**bleep** French accent.
- La Revolution: 20 chapters in, and looking strong. For the 2nd coming of the AD Fanfic, I say this one is turning out to be a classic, especially with the fact everyone is in on this. The wiki has evolved, and the thread is seeing new people who read the story, get hooked on it, and eventually want to write a chapter or two. The previous fanfic, The Cilliad, went 73 chapters. I expect to see 75+, maybe even 80+ chapters before this saga is done. BTW, Inufan213 is working on a new version of The Cilliad.

- Bleach Ep. 45 - So homeboy decided to let Ishida live for the purpose of a) interrogation and b) making sure he really gets the chance to beat his **bleep** when the time comes. Keep in mind that I haven't been watching Bleach as of late, so really this is my first episode seeing Yoruichi and all those "assets" she has, and I'm not just talking about the T&A. As for the main character Ichigo, he has to go through intense training (again) to perfect his Bankai in a short amount of time. It's like trying to teach me how to climb a mountain, then expect me to climb Mt. Everest on the first try - only Ichigo can do that kind of **bleep** in a short amount of time and look good doing it. Just don't...oh wait, too late.
- Blood+ Ep. 21 - Wait, people are after Hagi and Saya? Who are these people who seem to come out the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the night, with a purpose to find some blood? Keep in mind that two of them already went down to Solomon last episode, but with a trippy Saya it was really a one-on-eight fight, which resulted in Hagi getting pwned for the first time. But he's a tough cookie, and lived to see Saya in the morning. But what a stupid broad - you know you're going to die if you drink their blood, yet you do and now you're dead after drinking it and catching fire from the morning sun. Meanwhile, Mao comes back and more Argeno candy.
- Black Lagoon DVD Vol. 2 - Since I've run out of things to talk about for the time being, let me give you a quick rundown of the 2nd Black Lagoon DVD. The 2nd DVD has Ep. 5-8, which wraps up the Neo-Nazi arc and starts up another mini-arc involving the Cartel and a servant you really don't want to **bleep** with. Unforunately, we'll have to wait for the 3rd DVD to see how that plays out. It's interesting to know that Revy is actually human, contary to popular belief. She does has feelings, you know, and she's not afraid to express them - even if it's in a form of a swear word every 10 words. Ep. 7 sets that up perfectly, showing another side of Revy that is really shocking if you've seen it for the first time. Really, did you expect to see that out of a person who just shoots, drinks, and swears all the day? I must say, Black Lagoon is climbing up on my favorite anime list - I should of found this series much earlier.

- Bleach Ep. 46 - If you didn't notice, this week in [as] anime was all about the flashback. In Bleach, this flashback focuses on the origins of some of the major players in the show, especially Renji, Rukia, and a couple of people that I can't remember off the top of my head via...school. You would think that with how powerful Renji is, he was a badass from the start...not really. It also shows that they have been through the toughest of times...through training and all. There's a scene where a hallow appears during a harmless mock skirmish, and you can see how scared everyone is. But Renji and his crew fought long enough for the calvary, I mean Aizen and Gin, to arrive and take care of the rest. If you think about it, Renji has been more deep stuff than you think...
- Blood+ Ep. 22 - We finally start seeing the story of Hagi came to be. Unlike Saya, Hagi was actually a "cute" little boy who grew up to become Saya's friend. And unlike the present Hagi, the past Hagi was the only one who stood up to Saya's bitchness. But as the episode went along, that connection between the two Hagis became more apparent...and then that scene hit. The scene where Hagi went down to get flowers for Saya for I-forgot-his-name. One thing leads to another, and Hagi takes a deadly fall. Seriously, I want to see that in slow motion just to see the impact. Of course, Saya comes up with the great idea to save Hagi...and you probably know the rest. There's still a number of burning questions, but I want to see how Saya, Hagi, Solomon, and Diva are really all connected.
- Madden NFL 08 - So yeah, I woke up Tuesday morning with football dancing in my head. I was the first one at my local Gamestop to buy Madden, and so far I'm loving it. Out of all the sports I follow, I follow football the most. Actually, I played high school football for 4 years, and to be honest I miss those days. Then again, I'm now in college getting a decent education, so the trade-off is alright for me. I didn't play last year's model, but I'm impressed of the next-gen versions of the game, now that EA had a year to tinker with the game. There are a couple of audio glitches and others that some have shown on the internet (see Farve Backwards Moonwalk), but those ones I haven't encountered yet. Everyone complains though, but you have to realize that all games have gitches and that no game is perfect. But this game satisfies my hunger for football, and now I shall wait for the regular season to start. Stupid preseason.

- Futurama - Look, I'll be honest with you: I actually like Futurama. I grew up with that show, back when Fox dominated Sunday nights with Futurama, King of the Hill, The Simpsons (when they weren't running out of plotlines to do), Malcom in the Middle (remember that show?) and The X-Files (the tail end of the franchise). For me, I can't get enough of watching any given episode, especially if it's one of my favorites - and I have a lot. So, I wasn't complaining that [as] took Saturdays off to show another Futurama marathon before the contract moves over to Comedy Central. I know that Saturdays is supposed to be all action (not that it's all action anyways), but then again I only watch Bleach and Blood+ on Saturdays...I could give a **bleep** about the other 5 hours of the block. As long as those two are still airing, I'll keep watching [as] Saturdays...for an hour.
- Michael Vick - As most of you know already, Michael Vick pleaded guilty this week, with the plea hearing scheduled for tomorrow. I won't go through what he did, since most of us already know from the hours and hours and hours of news on this guy. But there's one question that people haven't been asking (and I got this off of someone on ESPN Radio): How in the world did he hide his operations? Keep in mind, he had to hide everything from his coaches, the front office, his agent, his teammates, the fans, and the media. If he started once he got into the NFL back in 2001, then it's amazing how he did all of that without anyone noticing. It's just baffling.
- Summer '07 - I must say, this is one of the finest summers on record for me. For the first time, my summer started off with a bang - FanimeCon in San Jose. June was quiet, but I had a lot of things to do - from work to family gatherings and much more. July was really the hard hitter, with something major going on each week: 4th of July, Sac-Anime, my birthday, and a trip to LA. August came out just as well, and it ended with more family gatherings. Tomorrow, the daily grind called school will start for most of us (or the day after Labor Day for others), and all those memories will mostly be lost. I'll still be hot though.
